MINISTRY OVERVIEW
Care for One Another and for the World
Our ministry aspires to reflect and reinterpret the model given to us in the book The Acts of the Apostles. In that book, the nascent church together worshipped, taught, cared for one another, and served the world. And yet, even at such a young state, the churches of that time transformed, recreated, and renewed.
As leadership passed on from Peter to others and Paul took on an evangelistic role, the boundaries of past faith were continually questioned and sometimes broken down. Our model for ministry seeks to do the same, making effort to reconsider past practices while keeping our eyes and ears centered in the present, always striving to move into the future.
Ministry at Flagg Road focuses on care for one another and service to the world. The Canadian band, Barenaked Ladies, recorded a song decades ago that promised, “If you call, I will answer—and if you fall, I’ll pick you up.” These lines exemplify our continued commitment to one another and to others. There is no judgment in this, just a keen ear to the needs of others, a sense of compassion for and duty to each other, and a commitment to selflessness.
From our youngest to our most senior member, you’ll find this spirit echoing throughout Flagg Road Church. It is one of the strong and joyful ties that bind us.
