Youth Group

Making Friends. Having Fun. Giving Back.

Our Youth Group was created for 8th-12th graders, allowing the opportunity for the youth and their friends to provide community service, coordinate mission trips, and share the company of good friends. Our community service includes helping seniors and fundraising for charities near and far, and ranges from serving at soup kitchens to helping to restore a local playground. All the projects are incredibly rewarding; it always feels good to “give back!”

Our mission trips are sometimes local and sometimes involve travel out-of-state, and are the highlight of our year. Our youth have spent week-long service sessions working with children in Hartford, housing repair in Appalachia, and currently are participating in a “Restore the Shore” project on the Jersey Shore in response to the catastrophic devastation of Hurricane Sandy. Many long-lasting friendships are formed through these trips, as well as through dinner and movie nights, overnights, sporting events, game nights, and more.

The typically meets once a month at a time that works best for the majority of the members. Under the guidance of our youth director, they form consensus and plan all of their activities together. In so many ways, the activities truly are developed by the members and for the members. We encourage and welcome all new members, and we hope you come and check us out!
